Fans are very angry with publisher Blizzard Entertainment after they banned professional Hearthstone player Ng Wai “blitzchung” Chung, after he expressed his support to the demonstrators in Hong Kong on stream during an official Blizzard interview. After that incident, #BoycottBlizzard went trending on social media.
Check out some reactions below.
Kevin Hovdestad, a former Blizzard employee, shared a photo of the famous statue outside of Blizzard’s headquarters. Employees had hidden two of the company’s eight values, “Think Globally” and “Every Voice Matters.”
Not everyone at Blizzard agrees with what happened.
Both the “Think Globally” and “Every Voice Matters” values have been covered up by incensed employees this morning. pic.twitter.com/I7nAYUes6Q

On social media, fans found various ways of demonstrating against Blizzard and boycotting the company, including cancelling their Battle.net accounts.
Since today, Mei became the official face of the protest. Fans edited pictures of her with a mask, like the protesters to hide their identity, and video’s like you can see below.
Below the video, there are some more reactions from very unhappy fans. Some of them even declared to stop playing Blizzard games and cancelling their subscriptions.
If we are gonna do it, we are gonna do it big: Mei becomes the icon of Hong Kong revolution!

Cancelled my subscription to World of Warcraft. I support young people proactively advocating for their freedom and democracy; They are shaping a better tomorrow. Punishing them for their activism is shameful. #BoycottBlizzard pic.twitter.com/LcPG48Axbl
