Watch Party makes an unexpected return, but not for long. Amazon quietly announced on its support page that hosting Watch Parties will be discontinued starting April 2. Usage sharply declined, likely due to lockdowns lifting. This move allows Amazon to focus on other features.
Watch Parties was introduced in April 2020. Users could watch and react to movies available with their Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription. As COVID-19 lockdowns spread, digital group gatherings became popular. Disney+ launched its own Group Watch feature in September 2020, later quietly removing it.
The Fallout series, inspired by the popular game, shows a group from shelters returning to the post-apocalyptic world. They find a weird and violent universe awaiting them.
Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan, the creators of Westworld, are developing and writing Fallout. The show will be led by showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel), featuring Ella Purnell , Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan.
