World of Warcraft players have launched a petition urging Blizzard to reverse the changes made to the WoW Classic Era and Hardcore servers.
World of Warcraft released the patch notes for the update, which shows updates to the Guild User Interface, allowing Druids to use polearms and Alliance players now have access to the Might of Stormwind. This upset World of Warcraft Classic players, they believe these updates violate the no changes promise and undermine the original spirit of World of Warcraft Classic.
- The Guilds user interface has been updated to provide more ease of Guild management.
- Alliance players now have access to the Might of Stormwind, a version of the Warchief’s Blessing world buff effect. This new buff is gained for turning in a new quest “End of the Dark Horde” in Stormwind and is mutually exclusive with Warchief’s Blessing.
- The Songflower Serenade and Dire Maul Tribute buffs can no longer be dispelled by enemy players.
- Druids can now train and use polearms.

“Vanilla WoW is undoubtedly one of the best games ever made. Hundreds of thousands of gamers have been playing it on both official and private servers for the last 20 years. The Vanilla WoW formula is time tested and it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that people enjoy it and have the desire to play it as it was with no changes.
To the passionate few Vanilla WoW enjoyers left, the time is now to come together. This is not just A game to us, it is THE game of our generation. We like playing on servers with an authentic Vanilla meta with no changes and when Activision Blizzard launched Classic Era, it was promised to serve as a time capsule to help preserve the game as it was.
If changes are to be made, Seasonal servers such as Season of Mastery and Season of Discovery are the servers where these should be made not Classic Era. “
Get over it… my god. I’ve played since Vanilla as well and the game has only improved since then. To say Vanilla is the “best” or the way WoW should be is just plain stupid.
