During the Season 2 Developer Update livestream, Blizzard made a big announcement. They revealed that Diablo 4 is on its way to Steam, starting on October 17th. This is noteworthy because earlier this year, Overwatch also became available on Steam, making Diablo 4 the second Blizzard game to join Valve’s game library.
While they didn’t share too many details, Blizzard did confirm that playing Diablo 4 through Steam will still let you play with others on different platforms and keep your character’s progress across all the platforms that are currently supported.
What’s also exciting is that this move means you’ll soon be able to play Diablo 4 on the Steam Deck. Right now, getting the game to run on Valve’s handheld device requires a rather complicated installation process, but that will change soon.
