Beginning March 28th, Game Pass users on PC and Xbox can access Diablo 4. But here’s the thing – Game Pass Core members can’t play it.
Microsoft recently bought Activision Blizzard for $69 billion and is slowly adding their games to Game Pass. Phil Spencer hasn’t said when other Blizzard games will be added or which ones exactly. The platform introduced Game Pass Core last September to replace the outdated Xbox Live Gold program. In the Xbox Podcast, President Sarah Bond said Game Pass had 34 million subscribers, and all could play Diablo 4. But, that’s not true.
“The 34 million Game Pass membership number is accurate. Diablo IV is coming to Xbox Game Pass on March 28th, with the exception of the Xbox Game Pass Core catalog,” says Kari Perez in a statement to The Verge.
Game Pass Core subscribers might be confused about why they can’t play Diablo 4. It’s possible Xbox will clear things up by issuing a statement about the availability of this and other Activision Blizzard games in the future.
Xbox Game Pass Core is a subscription option that offers various benefits to Xbox gamers, including online multiplayer gaming, free games, exclusive discounts, and more. It serves as the replacement for Xbox Live Gold and is the more affordable alternative to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
