World of Warcraft Retail may come to GeForce NOW

Redditor Neptilen shared images indicating that the retail edition of World of Warcraft might become accessible on GeForce NOW, which is NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service.

Nvidia announced during CES 2024 that bringing Diablo IVandOverwatchtoGeForce Now is a component of their decade-long partnership with Microsoft. GeForce NOW has a diverse catalogue of popular PC games from platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox and others. Supported by GeForce RTX 4080 GPU-class graphics, it is expanding its cloud-based gaming offerings.

Now, it could be possible that retail World of Warcraft might become accessible as well on GeForce NOW.

Four years ago, GeForce Now removed World of Warcraft and more Activision Blizzard games “at their request.” Despite NVIDIA’s disappointment with the situation, they express a continued hope to collaborate in the future and bring the titles back to the platform. In February of this year, Phil Spencer announced on X/Twitter that Xbox has entered into a 10-year agreement with NVIDIA. This collaboration will enable GeForce NOW players to stream Xbox PC games, along with Activision Blizzard PC titles, including Call of Duty.

Diablo and Overwatch are set to join GeForce Now. Although Nvidia hasn’t specified a release date, they assure that both games will be accessible on GeForce Now in the near future.

If World of Warcraft returns to the platform, you’ll probably have to play it without add-ons because third-party downloads are not allowed. Still, a lot of Redditor are looking forward that the game could return to GFN.
