Blizzard has lost a major sponsor after Hong Kong debacle

Blizzard Entertainment has lost a huge sponsor after their decision to ban Hearthstone player Blitzchung. Only two days after the incident, Mitsubishi Motors has decided to stop sponsoring the esports events Blizzard organizes. The Taiwanese branch of the auto giant has been sponsoring all of Blizzard’s events for a while, but decided to quit after the incident.

A spokesperson for the company told The Daily Beast what occurred. At first, nobody really noticed the departure of Mitsubishi Motors from the esports scene, but a couple of Redditors saw that the logo’s were gone and there were no more models of their cars to be seen during the broadcasts.

With Blizzcon starting this weekend, we are very curious what Blizzard’s response will be, or if they will respond at all.
