Blizzard unveiled more of World of Warcraft: The War Within’s brand-new mode, Delves, showcasing it as a dynamic experience and a source of endgame rewards.
Delves is something brand-new you can expect in World of Warcraft: The War Within. Delves are “bite-sized” dungeons for 1-5 players (yes, you can solo them) that don’t require specific roles and take about 10-15 minutes to finish, on average. There will be 12 Delves scattered across Khaz Algar, each exploring different underground themes. Additionally, in Season 1, a thirteenth Delve focused on Xev’zik, a Nerubian lieutenant, will be unlocked.
These Delves have changing objectives daily, offering diverse adventures each time. You can revisit the same Delve multiple times, experiencing different challenges and adventures each visit.
You can select your preferred difficulty level, and if you prefer not to tackle Delves solo, the Group Finder will offer an option specifically for them.
In Season 1 of the War Within, Brann Bronzebeard will accompany you on your Delves.
Our editor Nick Nijland participated in The War Within Preview event and in his preview article, he mentioned the following about Delves:
“Holly [Longdale] explained to us in a group interview, that Blizzard does a lot of analyzing, focus testing and surveys, to be sure that every corner of the community has content to enjoy. The example she gives is the addition of Delves. Blizzard learned that while players got older, they got more busy, got children and wanted more bite-sized content to fulfil their WoW needs. The Delves should fill that gap in the game.
Playing the Delves for a couple of hours, I can definitely say that they seem a very good addition to the game. Although they were a bit too easy at this point and I would like to see some more challenging Delves in the future. But most importantly, the goal of making fun bite-sized content, seems to be achieved.”
