World of Warcraft Classic Phase 2 release period announced

While the major part of the community is still working to get to level 60, Blizzard has given some insight on when we can expect Phase 2 to arrive. In an interview with PC Gamer, Ion Hazzikostas has revealed that the intends to release the second phase before the end of this year.

“I think it’s a matter of later this year, I think we can say definitively,” Hazzikostas told me. “Within that timeframe? It’s going to depend on a few factors.”

This is good news for players that are already level 60 and are looking for more stuff to do next to Molten Core and Onyxia’s Lair.

Phase 2 will add the Honor System, making World PVP more lucrative for players. Next to that, the World Bosses Azuregos and Lord Kazzak will be added, as well as the Dire Maul dungeon and with that rank 7 of mage water. Furthermore the key ring will be added, so we don’t have to keep all those keys in our bank.

Blizzard recently announced that they have started to remove layers on certain servers already, since the population has dropped to an acceptable size (you can read more on that here). This is only the case for the smaller servers though. The bigger servers will have to wait till Phase 2 for layering to disappear, which might be good, since a lot of the bigger servers are still seeing queues every single day.
