The official Xbox site has revealed that Starfield will need about 125GB of storage space. That’s more than one-fifth of the available space on the smaller and cheaper Xbox Series S. Since most people probably have other big games installed too, fitting everything might be a tight fit. Some other AAA games have needed even more space, but it’s still a good idea for players to free up some space or consider getting a 1-2TB memory card to expand their storage.
Yesterday, players can preload Starfield early, which is something many modern games do. Because the game is so highly anticipated, to the point where other games are being delayed to avoid competition, this early preload option will make the most excited fans even more eager. While it’s convenient to be able to play the game right when it launches and have the downloading process done early, it might cause some complications considering the storage requirement we talked about earlier.
Starfield is one of the most eagerly-awaited video games of 2023. It’s a special game because it’s the first single-player game from Bethesda since Fallout 4 in 2015, and it’s their first completely new IP in 25 years.
